Sessions & attendance

Invite and confirm learners

Invite your learners to a session by email or enrol them directly, and follow their status through to attendance.

Updated on May 29, 2026

Learner enrolment happens at the session level, during its preparation phase. Two paths exist depending on your need.

Invite by email

From the session page, add a learner: pick an existing record or type a free email. If the learner doesn’t exist yet, their record is created. Sending the invitation puts the enrolment in the invited status and sends an email containing a confirmation link.

Direct enrolment

Same dialog, but the enrol directly option places the learner in confirmed without sending an email. Useful when you handle enrolment on their behalf.

The status cycle

invited → confirmed → present
                   └→ absent
  • The learner clicks the link received → they automatically become confirmed.
  • Recording attendance moves them to present.
  • The admin can also adjust the status by hand from the learner’s row.

Resend an invitation

While a learner is in the invited status, you can resend the invitation: a new link is generated and the email is sent again.

Next step

Once the session has started, attendance comes next: see Attendance sheet and signatures.

Frequently asked questions

Does the learner need an account to confirm?
No. Confirmation happens through a public link received by email, with no sign-in. The link is single-use.
What's the difference between an invitation and direct enrolment?
An invitation sends an email and waits for the learner to confirm. Direct enrolment places them straight into 'confirmed', with no email — handy when you manage enrolment on their behalf.
